Local
Chapters Team Up
Local Chapters of SCTE & WICT partner
together to build awareness of cable technology.
WICT Greater Florida
volunteers had a lot of fun during the SCTE Cable Tec Games held on
September 26th. WICT members assisted the Central Florida Chapter of
SCTE with registration and supported the judges during the cable tec
games. I think it was the WICT team on Cable Tec Jeopardy was the
highlight of the evening.
It was a memorable
experience that we hope to continue in 2008. Thank you to Brian Parrish,
Central Florida SCTE President and the rest of the board for inviting us
and including us in such a great time.

During
the SCTE Tec Expo held in Orlando Fl on June 20th

Women
in Cable Telecommunications sponsored a program called
Tech It Out: A Conversation with Women
Technology Leaders
Benita
Fitzgerald Mosley, President & CEO of Women in Cable
Telecommunication moderated a panel that was comprised of Nomi Bergman,
Executive VP, Strategy/Development for Advance/Newhouse Communications,
Sherita Ceasar, VP of Product Engineering, Planning and Strategy for
Comcast Communications, Kristine Faulkner, VP Product Development and
Management for Cox communications Inc., Carol Richardson, Interim Dean
College of Applied Science and Technology at Rochester Institute of
Technology and Carolyn Terry, Regional Director, Engineering Time Warner
Cable, Los Angeles CA.
This panel was asked to explain how women can take advantage of the
growing opportunities available in the cable technology profession.
Members of the Greater Tampa Chapter of WICT joined these senior women
leaders and learn how they have navigated today's complex cable
technologies and stayed current on upcoming trends. The group discovered
firsthand their secrets to success, including management and leadership
strategies the panelists developed to overcome the challenges and
climate of the industry.
